I was born and raised in the great town of Abilene, Texas and was fortunate enough to grow up with an incredible family. After graduating high school, I left Abilene to attend the University of Oklahoma and would later get my Masters of Divinity with an emphasis in cross-cultural studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. My sophomore year at OU I met Jennifer, whom I would later marry in the summer of 2004. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City and also comes from a great family. She is a licensed registered nurse but currently runs her own photography business while being a full-time mom. We have lived in Oklahoma, California and Texas and are truly best friends. We are blessed with two amazing children, James & Annabelle who keep our lives fun and full of adventure. After serving as the Director of Global Ministries at First Baptist Arlington, I felt the Lord call me to pastoring and joined the staff at University Baptist in the fall of 2016.
What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?
It’s hard to beat spending time with my family no matter the time of year. That said, fall is one of my favorite times of the year so I love having a Saturday where I can coach my kids’ soccer games, play outside and watch some great college football.

What's your favorite Bible verse (or character)?
I’ve always loved II Timothy 2:10 that reads, “Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect that they too may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus with eternal glory."

What is a book you have recently read and would recommend to others?
The Big Disconnect is a great book that discusses the impact technology is having on families and is very thought provoking.
What is your favorite hobby?
Sports and music. I love teaching sports to my kids, playing sports with my friends when I can and of course watching my favorite teams compete.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?
I’d love the power to teleport anywhere in the world. I love to travel and see different cultures so being able to get there in an instant without any hassle would be awesome.
